THIS LOOKS LIKE A EXERCISE THAT WOULD BENEFIT WRESTLERS/MMA FIGHTERS BECAUSE OF THE CONDITIONING INVOLVED AND THE TYPE OF TRAINING MOVEMENT.
IT ALMOST LOOK LIKE A FORM OF CROSSFIT WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT SEVERAL SETS.
I TRAIN OLYMPIC LIFTERS, FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND OTHER EXPLOSIVE ATHLETES IN MY CLUB. I CAN SEE SOME BENEFIT IN THIS TYPE OF TRAINING AT THE END OF TRAINING OR DURING CONDITIONING CYCLES.
ALL THE BEST, TIM SWORDS
USAW NATIONAL COACHING COMMITTEE
Hello Coach Swords,
I like to incorporate various conditioning drills and strength training modalities into our programs. We’ll have our football players keep cycling through this sequence until a certain number of pull ups are reached. I have worked with wrestlers in the past that would add a weighted vest to increase the intensity of this protocol. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate the feedback.
Hope all is well. Have a great day!
