STT’s tip of the month for March 2010

Recently one of my athletes asked “Does sleep really affect our recovery from training?”  Without question it does.  Good, uninterrupted sleep allows your body to recover from the stress of training as well as all the work your body has done throughout the day.  Getting 7-9 hours a night allows hormone levels to balance, muscles to relax, and it also allows your mind to clear itself.  When the topic of rest, recovery, and regeneration come up, too often we turn to hydration, nutrition, and stretching while forgetting that a short nap in the middle of the day may help take us to another level too.

  1. Short, concise, and to the point thanks Rob! I am constantly reminding my clients that getting more sleep is one of the most passive things that can be done to get the results they desire!
Love the color format of your blog!

    • Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you like the color format. Keep checking back with STT’s blog. There are plans to make this aspect of SMARTER Team Training a significant source for your training information. The goal is to have easy navigation with an eye catching image.

I hope all is well. Have a great day!
      Rob
